Hilton HHonors announces Q2 double your points or miles promotion

As Deals We Like and View From the Wing have already posted, Hilton announced their second quarter 2012 promotion this morning offering either double points or double airline miles for stays April 1 to June 30, 2012.

a close up of a signRegistration is required and once you pick either double points or double miles, your selection cannot be changed during the promotion period. All paid, published hotel rates are eligible, including advance purchase rates, but the list of non-participating properties is quite large once again, generally including the lower-tier Hilton brands who haven’t participated in past promotions. Also, if you select bonus points, they do not count toward elite tier qualification.

This type of promo doesn’t sway me to start mattress running with Hilton beyond my planned stays, but it’s at least a little something extra without having to do anything different (except registering). Stays previously booked that fall within the date range qualify for the promotion so long as you register prior to checking in.

As for me, I went with double miles since the majority of my stays are typically for one night at flagship Hilton properties at the lowest rate and I’ll get more value out of the 1,000 airline miles.

    • @Aarash: Oh wow, 9 weeks! If you have your earning style set to Points & Variable Miles, you’ll rack up a minimum of 22,302 airline miles, almost enough for a free domestic ticket – you’ll likely exceed that with other room spend. With Points & Points earning, a minimum of 167,000ish points, so that’s probably more ideal of a benefit as that’s 3-nights at a category 7 property and in my opinion better than a domestic coach ticket.

  1. brilliant! Points & Points is exactly the way I have it set up! Unfortunately, only 3 of the 9 weeks is in Q2. I’ll be there June-Aug. Hopefully Hilton will throw us a better bone with their Q3 promo….Maybe it WILL be something to write home about. Also, I can’t recall, but do you get points on the taxes you pay as well? that would be another $1700 by itself!
