You will learn I’m a sucker for just about any type of mileage promotion, and this includes sweepstakes offerings.  United Airlines is currently having one featuring a grand prize of 1,280,000 miles, enough for a first class trip for two around the world.  You can enter up to three times each day until December 30, 2010, and the winner of that prize will be picked on January 2, 2011.  Enter here.

The mileage prizes are the most attractive to me, and it looks like the other prizes feature items that are tied into the theme of the sweepstakes… namely, being able to redeem your miles for just about anything.  You are shown a video before playing the slot machine-esque game mentioning the various redemption options available from “the mileage program that wants you to use your miles.â€

Nothing is free, of course, and you’d be responsible for the taxes on the approximate retail values of each prize.  The grand prize has an ARV of $25,600, which would be quite a burden on my tax liability.  It doesn’t stop me from wanting to win, though!
