The first American Airlines flights between LAX and New York-JFK featuring the new 3-cabin Airbus A321s are now showing up online.
As I mentioned yesterday, American begins taking delivery of their A321s this November, with the first scheduled Airbus flights on the premium transcontinental route between Los Angeles and New York operating January 7.
Via Amol on Twitter (aka @PointsToPointB), Airline Route has published a list of which flights will receive the new birds first, replacing the aging Boeing 767-200s currently serving the route.
Initially, two daily flights in each direction will be operated using A321 aircraft (coded by American as “32Bâ€). From LAX, flight 118 at 7:00 a.m. and flight 10 at 9:15 p.m. are now live:

From JFK, flight 133 at 3:45 p.m. and flight 181 at 4:45 p.m. are the two slotted as A321s.

By January 31, six of the nine daily nonstop flights in each direction will be operated with A321s. Check out Airline Route for further details.
As of this posting, Boeing 767-200 seat maps are still showing when you click “View Available Seats†during a test booking for the A321 flights. Perhaps by sometime tomorrow morning the actual maps will be loaded. [Edited August 11: The correct seat maps are now appearing.]

Can’t seem to find any saver level award for those two flights. Do you think they will ever open up for just 25k in business? Booking for late may.
@Skwok: That’s the downside of these new birds… fewer business class seats than the 762s. Finding saver award space will certainly be difficult and American might hold off on releasing them until closer to departure.
