I previously reviewed Air Astana’s long-haul men’s business class amenity kit, and I’ll have a full review of the female version in an upcoming post. In the meantime, here’s a look at the airline’s unisex offering provided to business class passengers on short-haul flights for this installment of Amenity Kit Reviews.
The Kazakhstan-based airline operates flights throughout Europe and Asia from its home base in Almaty. While not a part of any major alliance, it’s a Skytrax 4 Star rated carrier and was named Best Airline in Central Asia and India this year.
I won’t put this kit through my normal scoring system, as I believe it’s basically a bonus for passengers on flights with a relatively short duration (no more than five hours). It would score decently if I did, but I currently don’t have a separate system in place since so few airlines offer unique kits based on flight length. As such, it gets an honorary “exceptional†rating, in my opinion. 😉
Chopard designed the rather attractive padded zipper bag, and I could easily see it being reused as a makeup and/or grooming case. It’s stocked with suitable items for a relatively short flight (more than I would use), including eyeshades, socks, lip balm, toothpaste and a toothbrush.
Amenity kit provider Formia supplies the kits for the airline, which only started providing a short-haul version this year. It would be great to see this as a trend in the industry, as well as selfishly to bolster my collection. 🙂
