Availability for the United Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner domestic schedule is loaded and LIVE! Upgrade space looks plentiful and my strategy paid off – the flights I booked today were indeed adjusted over correctly to the 787.
Seat maps aren’t currently available, but I’d imagine those will plop in overnight.
Who’s gonna be in Houston with me on the 4th?
HUGE hat tip to Bruce at NonRev Adventure for letting me know it was live online. Follow him on Twitter at @NonRevAdventure.

I won’t be there on the 4th, but I will be flying the 787 on Nov. 17th IAD to IAH! Then connecting to Omaha because it was $500 LESS to continue than to just stay in Houston.
I’m booked on the 787 for the 4th and super excited about it! Entire trip booked using miles and I even got to leverage the American Express Membership Rewards British Airways 40% transfer bonus for my repositioning flights as well.
November 3rd (10,000 AMEX Points = 14,000 Avios (with 40% bonus) + 500 Avios already in my account = 14,500 miles)
DCA-DFW (AA 2220)
DFW-IAH (AA 844)
1 night at Fairfield Inn & Suites Houston Intercontinental Airport = 7,500 Marriott Rewards Points
November 4th (12,500 United miles)
IAH-ORD (UA 1116 – THE DREAMLINER)
ORD-IAD (UA 400)
So…all in, I’m looking at the equivalent of 23,000 airline miles, 7,500 hotel points, and $10 for TSA security fee. Pretty good deal to be on one of the first United 787 flights.
@Jamie: Well done!
@Tracy: Very smart move to find a “beyond” city for a lower fare.
@CDKing: It should be a fun morning at IAH on the 4th.
I got an MR moved a day forward for $35, the whole thing, COS-IAH-LAX-PHX-SFO-IAH-COS apparently is being considered as “one way” by SHARES, so I was able to upgrade the entire trip (787 segment on SFO-IAH) for 20K miles. I also have SFO-IAH 787 a month later, but that was luck of the draw based on my previously booked flight.
@Kris: Well how about that? A SHARES error actually did something good. Well done.
The same type of error classified PHX-LAX-JFK-SFO-SEA as one way, so double p.s. business for 20K miles.
