In catching up with things I missed while I was offline these past couple of weeks, I see United has a nifty contest out there for a chance to win a seat on the upcoming Star Alliance MegaDO.
I made a video and submitted it today via the simple process explained here. There is a blurb in the official rules as follows (bolding mine):
The Submission cannot have been submitted previously in a promotion of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly through any means.
If it weren’t for that last part, I’d embed my submission here. I think I have a fighting chance, actually, so I don’t want to disqualify myself. 😉 I’ll post it, though, after the contest is over. If you’re interested, you have until noon EDT this Friday (October 19, 2012) to upload your entry.
The winner will receive economy class transportation from their home airport to San Francisco, one seat on the Star MegaDO charter flight between San Francisco, Houston and Chicago, hotel accommodations in each city at a Hyatt Regency throughout the Star MegaDO trip, select meals and beverages, economy class air transportation from Chicago to the winner’s home airport and 5,000 MileagePlus Premier Qualifying Miles / Redeemable Miles. (I assume the ‘/’ means you get both PQMs and RDMs.)
In Chicago there’s a choice of tours available and you pick your first, second and third preferences. United will ultimately select which one you get. More details can be found here, which contains the full itinerary and planned activities.
Potential winners will be contacted via email on or around Sunday, October 21.
If you don’t already have a ticket for the MegaDO, this is a pretty cool and easy contest for a chance at a last-minute seat! The only downside… you’ll get a 1099 for the $5,000 ARV of the prize.
