Vintage Airline Seat Map: Cathay Pacific Lockheed L-1011 TriStar

Very special thanks to reader Will who sent me several Cathay Pacific seat maps from 1988 and here is their Lockheed L-1011 TriStar. Flown primarily on high demand markets from their hub in Hong Kong, this bird was seen flying mostly to Bangkok, Manila, Seoul’s Gimpo airport, Nagoya, Singapore and Tokyo’s Narita airport. Cathay chose the 10-abreast layout in coach in a 3-4-3 configuration where a total of 214 seats are found, 53 in Marco Polo Business Class (2-3-2) and 12 in First Class (2-2-2). The orange tinted seats were the smoking sections in each respective cabin, the purple shapes are closets and the baby blue boxes are lavatories. That green rectangle behind seats 3H & 3K is labeled as a cart lift from the lower lobe galley facility (I’m surprised it’s that far forward) and the orange rectangles ahead of rows 30 and 48 are bar units (galleys are pink). In First Class I’d be in 2A or 2C, 12A or 12C in Marco Polo class and definitely 31C or 31H in economy.
